Death Metal powerhouse VITRIOL, thrusts into the abyss once again with their relentless new single, “Weaponized Loss”. Distilling the fruits of trauma into a formidable strength amidst oppressive surroundings, the band explores a profound narrative of existential struggle.

Guitarist and vocalist Kyle Rasmussen describes the track as a tool for navigating the scars of early adversity, transforming painful loss into a vital survival mechanism.

The accompanying visualizer for “Weaponized Loss” intensifies the visceral experience, offering a glimpse into the impending storm that is VITRIOL’s sophomore full-length, “Suffer & Become”, slated for release on January 26th, 2024.

Reflecting on the arduous journey of creating “Suffer & Become”, Rasmussen delves into the intentional hardships faced during the album’s production. “The record feels a bit like a Jungian Dante’s Inferno,” he states. “Plumbing the circles of my personal, psychological, and spiritual hell and then purposely refocusing it so it’s not the unhinged, dark catharsis of the first album. This record is a lot more vulnerable.”

Songs like “Weaponized Loss” or “The Flowers of Sadism” are what Kyle describes as a “dark baptism” in comparison to the absolute darkness of “To Bathe From The Throat Of Cowardice”. The sound of VITRIOL remains as joyless and dark as ever, but with a glimmer of hope.

VITRIOL has taken its trauma-put-to-sound approach to the next level and discovered a new sense of beauty in the blackness. “Suffer & Become” is Death Metal with a bloody, beating heart.
