ROTTING CHRIST have released their third single titled “The Apostate” from their upcoming new album “Pro Xristou”. “The Apostate” is inspired and dedicated to the last Roman Pagan King Flavius Claudius Julianus who resisted the coming of Christianity in Europe and died for his ideas, restoring the ancient values and traditions.

Season of Mist’s press release follows:

ROTTING CHRIST proudly presents “The Apostate,” the latest single from the unparalleled masters of blackened ‘Hellenic’ metal. This track is a vehement storm conjured from the depths of the band’s upcoming monumental release, “Pro Xristou” – a sonorous odyssey that not only celebrates the indomitable spirit of paganism, but also challenges the encroaching shadows of conformity.

For over three decades, ROTTING CHRIST, led by the visionary Sakis and Themis Tolis, has carved a path of resistance, blending the raw energy of black metal with lyrical narratives that defy the sands of time. Their journey has been one of rebellion, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the essence of metal. With “Pro Xristou,” they are set to redefine the legacy of Hellenic Black Metal once more.

“The Apostate” tells the story of resistance against the tide of religious conversion. It is a tribute to those who stood unbowed in honor of Flavius Claudius Julianus, safeguarding ancient knowledge and values against the onslaught of oblivion. The track is an intricate weave of mesmerizing choirs, neoclassical arrangements, and the band’s signature blackened atmosphere. On “The Apostate” ROTTING CHRIST encapsulates their relentless exploration of musical and thematic boundaries.

ROTTING CHRIST’s new album “Pro Xristou” is expected to be released on May 24, 2024, by Season Of Mist.
