Nowadays, due to quarantine, our society has been subjected to even more intense feelings of fear, pessimism, and depression, which are the perfect atmosphere for HUMAN SERPENT to spit their misanthropic “venom”. In the recent years, the band has been quite active, with their most recent release being last year’s complication “All Return to Nothing”. So, after the amazing 2018 album “For I, the Misanthropist” and the excellent “The Vacuity ” EP in 2019, they return now with their new iconic record “Heirlooms Eternal” and cast a gloom over us in an abyss with no light.

The fact is that the new HUMAN SERPENT record was expected by many people and the expectations had already been set high by the band itself, due to the quality of their recent releases. The band describes the new album as the most aggressive, soul-suffocating and mind-destructive HUMAN SERPENT album. A statement, which captures the “moral” and sophisticated musical and lyrical character of “Heirlooms Eternal”, with the record being a furious Black Metal assault from start to finish.

Guitars with sharp, fast riffs, drums in stormy rhythms and a dark cataclysmic atmosphere hovering everywhere, enhanced by sad and depressing melodies. A sound, quite chaotic and raw with a cold character that is combined with X.’s personal lyrics, making you feel desperately wandering on unknown and dangerous mind paths. Vocals are one of the main features of HUMAN SERPENT and in the new album the lyrics are divided between Greek and English language, while X. sings with incredible hate and anger for his personal hell manifesto.

Listen and shudder with “Memories Are Rooms Of Pain”, in which the frozen melody is ideally combined with piano, as also “Mirrors” with its angry misanthropic character, two of the best compositions the band has ever written! The nihilistic Black Metal of “Heirlooms Eternal” concludes with an ideal cover which combines in perfect harmony with band’s anti humanity character.

HUMAN SERPENT is a band that really has its personal unique sound and personality. From lyrics and artwork, to their riffs which are a mixture of Greek, Finnish, French and Norwegian scene. With “Heirlooms Eternal” they confirm once again that they are one of Greece’s top bands, offering us a great album of raw Black Metal with feelings of hate and despair.
