RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR release their new album, “Showdown”, today (April 7th) via Atomic Fire Records. To celebrate the release the band has unleashed an official video for the new single, “Rise [ライズ]” , directed by Takasuke Kato.

On “Showdown”, RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR combine everything we love about the Shonen manga maniacs with an extra dose of texture and flair and develop this into an ultimate, all-encompassing overall experience on album number three. The trademark of the band remains in the core; the artistic mastermind Vithia gives the record his magic of design and illustration, making it the sum of its parts. Expect insane grooves mixed with powerful riffs, in the well-known flow of Vithia and sublimated by Eva-B’sepic solos.

The songs are so multi-layered that you want to jump along to the groove, headbang to the hardness and mosh to the hardcore breakdowns. Thrash riffing almost crushes your neck, you reflexively sing along to the choruses and the razor-sharp solos give you goose bumps. If there is one band that stands out for its originality, its universe and its music, it is undoubtedly RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR who dominate every stage with their performance.

Forged in Paris in 2008, RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR is a metal band conjuring their very own brand of modern, hyper-heavy rage music. The stylistic backgrounds of the five participants speak a very clear language: American hip-hop, brute groove metal from acts like MACHINE HEAD and PANTERAas well as hefty New York Hardcore along with the edgy, pressing sounds from consorts like RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINET, KORN and DEFTONES. From all these listening preferences, the very special style of RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR was born. Millionfold viewed music videos on Youtube paved the way and with their 2014 debut “Welcame,” they delivered their power-packed, thrash-laced spectacle in full length form upon the masses.

Collectively boasting a fondness for Japanese manga culture, especially those from the 1980s, appropriately classic thematic content is processed in a lyrically exciting way. Thus, the band is particularly celebrated in Japan and elsewhere in Asia where performances are met with wild fanfare and packed concert halls. Following a successful tour in 2017, the band released their critically lauded second album “The Legacy Of Shi“ and fans were brought even closer to their very own Nippon apocalypse in April 2023 with the band’s third full-length offering!
