Udo Dirkschneider (vocals), Sven Dirkschneider (drums), Fabian Dee Dammers (guitars), Andrey Smirnov (guitars) and Peter Baltes (bass): Heavy metal squad U.D.O. seem to be lined up better than ever. A highly positive spirit is present within the team what cannot only be seen performance-wise on stage day by day but also musically. It especially is the latter aspect that led to their latest studio album “Touchdown” – the first one featuring all five of the aforementioned musicians — which was just released via Atomic Fire Records on August 25, 2023 and with that record, the band have now scored impressive chart entries worldwide, including no. 4 of the official German album chart – the highest result in their homeland in U.D.O.’s long-running career! The album was crafted with producer and mixing engineer Martin “Mattes” Pfeiffer at Redhead Studio (Wilhelmshaven, Germany) and mastered by Stefan Kaufmann at ROXX Studio (Solingen, Germany). The record includes a guest appearance by violinist Stefan Pintev on the closing track, and bass tracks were recorded by new member Baltes. Artwork was provided by Martin Häusler who was also responsible for shooting band photos in support of the new album campaign.
