YOTH IRIA, with their debut album «As The Flame Withers» in 2021, quickly ascended to the top of the Greek Black Metal scene. With prominent minds like Jim Mutilator and The Magus at the helm, nothing less could have been expected. The band, now with a complete lineup (Jim Mutilator – bass, Vasilis Stavrianidis – drums, Nikola Perlepe – guitar, Naberius – guitar, He – vocals), has returned powerfully with their new album «Blazing Inferno», released on November 8, 2024. This work combines the classic Hellenic Black Metal approach with dark, atmospheric touches and impressive epicness, solidifying the band’s place in the genre.

The album stands out for its dynamic compositions, featuring sharp, imposing riffs, haunting vocals from the band’s new frontman, He (see Rustam Shakirzyanov), and melodies that transport the listener into a grim, almost ritualistic world. The standout moments include «Mornings of the One Thousand Golds» a song with a grand and heroic feel, «Rites of Blood and Ice» which enriches the band’s sound with folk elements for a more multi-dimensional experience, and «In The Tongue Of The Birds» with its beautiful melodic outro.

«Blazing Inferno» is also notable for its structure, with each song seeming to flow organically into the next, creating an uninterrupted progression that culminates in «We Call Upon the Elements» a finale filled with intensity and mysticism. While the album remains true to the band’s roots, the new elements introduced into their sound manage to craft an imposing atmosphere.

«Blazing Inferno» is not just another album – it is a journey into the dark arts.
