The Norwegian Black Metallers WHOREDOM RIFLE are proving to be hyperactive during 2020. As they are recording their new album, they already have released a split with TAAKE in 2020 and now they return with their new EP “Ride the Final Tide”. Their new release includes a new song, which was not included on the upcoming new album and a cover song fror their compatriots MANES.
The new composition “Ride the Final Tide” shows us the barbaric and aggressive character of the band, without departing from the general musical context of Norwegian Black Metal. Although it sounds pleasant, it does not cease to be a common song, us we have heard hundreds similar in this genre. The Norwegians MANES, although not widely known to the metal fans, are one of the most influential Black Metal bands, especially in their country while, at the same time, appear to be a very special band. Having moved away from the Black Metal sound, each of their new releases is a surprise. In the period 1993-1999, where they played Black Metal, they have released three awesome demos and the masterpiece debut entitled “Under Ein Blodraud Mane”. WHOREDOM RIFLE chose the title track from the 1993 demo “Maanens Natt”, a good cover with a little touch of the original song’s feeling.
“Ride the Final Tide” is a release that is mainly for the diehard fans of the band and for the Black Metal collectors (is released only on 7′ vinyl). The new composition and the cover are notable without impressing, as they just fill the time until the release of WHOREDOM RIFLE’s next album.
