TRAVELER’s “Traveler” is the band’s self-titled debut album. Firstly I was afraid it would be yet another retro band, lacking of originality, but I was wrong.
From the first track you understand that they are here to stay for good. They invade your personal space like the Vikings invaded Paris! Cunningly, with an intro that reminds of “Blinded By Fear”, they embark on a trip back to the glory of the classic Heavy Metal era.
Yes, they remind of JUDAS PRIEST, TOKYO BLADE, and surely of the first years of IRON MAIDEN, but in their own unique way.
The tracks hit you mercilessly, one after the other, like a hydraulic press! There is no stopping, except for “Fallen Heroes” a mid-paced track that’s totally made for concerts.
In general, despite the rough production, we have a masterful and skillful record with dueling guitars and the spectacular voice of J.P.Abboud making you wonder what would have happened if the were born 30 years earlier.
Do they really worth the money? Of course, and if they share the same passion on stage then HELL YEAH!!!
