The founder, guitarist, and vocalist of the Norwegian Black Metallers DJEVEL, Trånn Ciekals, has passed away at the age of 47! The news of his death was announced by DJEVEL themselves via social media, stating his passing without revealing the cause of death.

In their statement, DJEVEL wrote:

“With the deepest sorrow in our hearts, we have to inform you that our brother and mastermind of DJEVEL, Trånn Ciekals, is no longer among us. We need a few days to process this loss, and we express our sincere condolences to Trånn’s family and, above all, to his two children.“

Trånn Ciekals was one of the founders of DJEVEL in 2009 and remained active in the band until his passing. DJEVEL has released nine albums, the most recent being «Natt til ende» in 2024.
