The rule of “third and best album” is once again confirmed by this former three-member and now two-member band from Phoenix, Arizona. A band founded in 2015, they pick up speed a bit more and leave this Power Prog Doom style of the old SOLITUDE AETURNUS and early FATES WARNING behind, creating an album, with the cover created by Mr. Joe Petagno (known for his work with MOTORHEAD), of eight compositions of classic metal with a total duration of forty minutes that will really make you feel emotional and send a shiver down your spine listening to them.
Say whatever you want for “Born Into Fire” and “Angel and Abyss” (both awesome songs), probably that METALLICA and The Madman (what do you mean who is The Madman ??) are winking all the time, as they are very reminiscent of “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and “Crazy Train” respectively, but that is not a bad thing at all, since the grooviness and the excitement are everywhere and continue throughout the album! Just press the “play” button and turn up the volume!
The guys may not be original and all their influences from METALLICA, OZZY, IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, MERCYFUL FATE to MASTODON and THIN LIZZY may be obvious, but the result is amazing and highly metallic! It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a band play such good material – in fact, a whole bunch of songs in one album! Especially, mature compositions, such as “Hear Her” or the same-titled song are not written every day! I consider them to be one of the few bands that clearly support their music, the metal scene and help to perpetuate this genre properly. Friends of good quality metal invest without fear!
