SORGELIG was formed in 2017 in Volos, Greece and it’s a Black Metal project of some musicians who participate in various Greek Black Metal bands, like DODSFERD, ISOLERT, INSANITY CULT and LEECHES (definitely listen to this year’s demo “A Plague in the Heart of Light”). SORGELIG is a very active band as in the three years of its existence, it has released two full-length albums and three EPs, including this year’s self-titled EP. Last year’s album “We, the Oblivious” took great reviews in the underground Black Metal scene.

A hypnotic and, at the same time, creepy piano intro prepares us for SORGELIG’s Black Metal abyss that will follow. The EP includes three furious Black Metal compositions with the personal touch of SORGELIG. Their sound is raw and aggressive, with intense dark elements and could be characterized as a mix of GORGOROTH, SARGEIST and DARKTHRONE (Transylvanian Hunger). Especially the intense vocals with the use of Greek lyrics by Odious (ISOLERT), whose hysterical cries in conjunction with the desperate and depressive backing vocals of the drummer N.D. (DODSFERD, ISOLERT, LEECHES), create a suffocating sinister atmosphere.

SORGELIG continue their upward course offering us another quality release in a short time. Those who are bored with the modernization of Black Metal that’s attempted in the recent years and want to hear some raw Black Metal from the “nihilist” view of SORGELIG, this release will satisfy you, at least!
