SLAYER are returning for the first time since 2019 with a highly anticipated appearance in 2025, headlining at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, United States. This will give fans a new chance to experience their much-discussed reunion show. The Thrash Metal legends’ comeback is expected to satisfy those disappointed by the cancellation of their appearance on the third day of this year’s festival (Friday, September 27, 2024), due to severe weather conditions caused by Hurricane Helene.

Despite the setbacks, Louder Than Life attracted over 150,000 attendees in 2024, establishing itself as one of the most significant destinations for heavy music enthusiasts. Louder Than Life Festival organizer, Danny Wimmer, promised an explosive lineup of bands for September 2025 in a social media post, with the full lineup to be revealed this winter.

Danny Wimmer specifically wrote:

“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of SLAYER. Our team is hard at work finalizing an incredible lineup that we can’t wait to reveal this winter. It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September.”

The big question remains whether this will be SLAYER’s only show in 2025, as rumors are circulating about a possible European appearance, with an official announcement expected soon.
