Lebanese female Thrash/Death Metal act SLAVE TO SIRENS, has released its new single “Salomé”, alongside a music video. The track is the lead single for the as yet untitled new record. More details will be announced soon.
Formed in late 2015, SLAVE TO SIRENS have swiftly earned the respect of Lebanon’s small but impassioned Metal scene, thanks to a combination of skill, inventiveness and sheer hard work. Their determination to succeed has helped them to overcome the myriad challenges of producing Metal music in a country with limited infrastructure and audiences, and a systematic misunderstanding of Metal culture and what it represents — made worse by the fact that they are women.
Celebrated as Middle East’s first all-female Metal band, the Thrash group were the subjects of the hugely successful documentary “Sirens”, which had its World Premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Rita Baghdadi directs Sirens, which follows the band’s struggles all the while Lebanon is on the brink of collapse.
