Not much needs to be said about the Industrial Metallers SAMAEL from Sion of Switzerland. Their journey for a whole 35 years since 1987 proves how big band they are. Their last full length album was the amazing “Hegemony” of 2017. But nowadays, a band in order to stay in the spotlight should constantly release new material. Because of the fact they hadn’t recorded anything new in these five years, but only re-releases of their old records, the band decided to take two songs from it;s latest work and more specifically “Dictate Of Transparency” and “Against All Enemies”, releasing them as a 7” red transparent vinyl in 500 copies along with a red t-shirt, featuring on the cover but also as a print a variant of the Statue of Liberty. At the same time, they shot the video clip for the self-titled song, which talks about today’s digital world in which we live and at any moment everyone knows who we are and what we do, with our will or without it.
On regards of the sound, the songs are sounded the same as in the cd, they just differ in terms of mastering and the dynamics of the vinyl version. Musically, they have all the classic SAMAELelements that we know in the last few years. No one arranges like that in (extreme) metal, this is generally accepted. The quality of these two songs is literally excellent as all things releases since the band made the shift to industrial metal. As a product it is only intended for the die-hard fans, for collecting purposes mainly.
