In this podcast of THE GALLERY Metal Madness, Jan Sören Eckert – bassist of the Germans IRON SAVIOR – was hosted in our studio! Jan gave a revealing interview with many information about his career. From his first appearance with IRON SAVIOR to the biggest European stages, Jan spoke about the moments that defined his career and his collaborations with Piet Sielck and Kai Hansen. He recalled the legendary and eventful first appearance of IRON SAVIOR in Athens back in 1997 at RODON club, when he and the band members were… shattered before going on stage!
Jan spoke with moving sincerity about the major life challenge he faced with his serious health issues and the special support he received from Piet Sielck, proving that Metal partnership is more than just music. He also revealed his love for Rockabilly and the new project he is preparing with Markus Grosskopf and Dani Löble from HELLOWEEN. He told us about his love for Greek Bouzouki (!), giving also information about the upcoming IRON SAVIOR album, and the live shows he is preparing.
He expressed his love for Greece, the food, the climate, and… the baglama he played in his latest ballad! He shared stories from his career with MASTERPLAN and the challenges brought by today’s music industry with the rise of streaming platforms.
