PROMETHEUS was created in Thessaloniki-Makedonia during 2007 and, after ten years and two demos, they released in 2017 the excellent debut album “Consumed In Flames”, creating “noise” around their name. Now, three years later, they are returning even stronger. According to the Greek mythology, Prometheus, seeing the descent of the human race towards nature learned them to handle the fire. So the band of PROMETHEUS offer us this year’s otherworldly creation “Resonant Echoes From Cosmos Of Old” and teach us to handle cosmic terror!

Their new album is a challenge for the listener, a “spiritual” Death/Black Metal blend haunted by a cosmic atmosphere that captivates the senses. An atmosphere created by synths, “space” melodies and paranoid riffs, while influences from MORBID ANGEL, primarily, EMPEROR, DARKSPACE and early ABSU are filtered through PROMETHEUS’s personal music formula. The mystical mood of “Resonant Echoes From Cosmos Of Old” is created by the darker and symphonic approach of Death/Black Metal (except from H.P. Lovecraft’s lyrics), giving as a result an uncontrollable intensity which sounds majestic.

PROMETHEUS gives us an excellent album from start to finish, a dark creation with six compositions with their own personality and the alternations between Death and Black Metal, being unpredictable while covered by a subterranean atmosphere. There are moments when time freezes during the album and senses are magnetized by the distinctive-personal sound of it, offering us an amazing musical ensemble of extreme metal.
