Oh well, NAPALM DEATH. What can we say and what new story can we tell about them that has never been said before. The leaders of grindcore, the connection between metalheads and punks are keeping on smashing our necks since 1981 and they are still writing and releasing very good records such as their latest full length “Apex Predator-Easy Meat” of 2015. “Stunt Your Growth” is a 12” vinyl in a limited edition of 500 hand-numbered copies.
The first song is the sophomore as we heard it in “Apex Predator-Easy Meat”, a supersonic track that unleashes Hell. The second track “What Is Past Is Prologue” is a Shane Embury’s composition that was left over and found its way here just like the third one “Oh So Pseudo”, a sonic grind typhoon made with the same high standards that NAPALM DEATH continue to keep.
NAPALM DEATH are still able to surprise us in a pleasant way after all these years. Where other musicians in their age are trying to be cooler and less speedy, NAPALM DEATH are still putting the pedals to the metal. Mitch Harris creates more interesting guitar themes; Shane Embury is building a solid wall with his basslines, while “Barney” Greenway screams and sings like a 18 year old horny young dude. Even Danny Herrera keeps on torturing his drum set with such convenience and vividness. Ladies and gentlemen, NAPALM DEATH, leaders not followers.
