Death/Grind Metal veterans NAPALM DEATH, five years after the excellent 2015 “Apex Predator-Easy Meat”, are willing to release their new album in 2020. As an appetizer for their upcoming album, they’ve released a 7’ EP entitled “Logic Ravaged by Brute Force”. It includes two songs, a new composition of NAPALM DEATH and a cover song of SONIC YOUTH called “White Kross”.

Those who expected to hear Death / Grind outbursts in “Logic Ravaged By Brute Force”, just forget it! NAPALM DEATH’s new title track is quite experimental with a Post Punk aesthetic in mid tempo rhythms, with influences from KILLING JOKE. The cover song at SONIC YOUTH’s song is quite indifferent. For those who don’t know SONIC YOUTH, they were a commercial alternative band from America. I think it would be more interesting for all of us if NAPALM DEATH have chosen to cover a metal song, something which they did with great success in ‘Leaders Not Followers’ album.

“Logic Ravaged By Brute Force” is recommended for NAPALM DEATH’s hardcore fans who want to have all of the band’s releases and also for collector’s purposes only. The title track will be on NAPALM DEATH’s next album, expected to be released in 2020.  I hope that it’s not representative for the musical direction the British guys have chosen…
