It’s not a secret that METALLICA has been working on a new album during COVID. James Hetfield recently said he’s been writing a lot recently, while Kirk Hammett added he has about 600 ideas for new music. Now Lars Ulrich is chiming in via an interview with NME, saying that band might record some new music this fall.
In the past, bassist Robert Trujillo made it pretty clear in the past that METALLICA isn’t interested in waiting another six years between records (like between 2008’s “St. Anger” and 2016’s “Hardwired To Self Destruct”). So it’s looking pretty good that we’ll be getting a new METALLICA album in the near future.
