The German magazine Metal Hammer returned this year with the legendary heavy metal awards! Yesterday, the 31st of August, the awards were granted to the best bands in its category for 11th year.
The winners of the Metal Hammer Aawards 2024 were the following in each category:
Best German Metal Band: Helloween
God of Riffs: Herman Li/Dragonforce
Social Media Hero: Lacuna Coil
Rising Star: The Halo Effect
Best International: In Flames
Voice of Metal: Udo Dirkschneider/U.D.O.
Best Album: Judas Priest “Invincible Shield”
Best Live: Big Teutonic Four (Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Tankard)
Legend: Scorpions
Metal Anthem: Saltatio Mortis (ft. Hansi Kürsch/Blind Guardian) ‘Finsterwacht’
Attitude: Orphaned Land (for promoting peace among all religions)
Maximum Metal: Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain)
Greece was present in the Awards via Rotting Christ in the categories of Best International and Best Album for “Pro Xristou”.
