For LORNA SHORE, 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet, 2020 signalled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, “To The Hellfire” from their EP “…And I Return to Nothingness”. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, “Pain Remains”, that not only aligns with everything LORNA SHORE has hinted at but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “It feels like a rebirth of everything for us – the energy, the band, the morale,” says drummer Austin Archey.
The band has released its new single “Into The Earth”, along with an official video directed by Norbert Crowfield. This is the second track released from their upcoming album, “Pain Remains”, which is set for release in October through Century Media Records.
LORNA SHORE comments about the song: ” ‘Into the Earth’ is about the initial fear and acceptance of the subconscious whilst falling into a state of lucid dreaming.”
Demonic-sounding vocalist Will Ramos’ gutturals sound like they are screamed straight from the pit, while the technical guitar work and soaring orchestrals give the track a cinematic and emotionally evocative feel.
In case you ever wondered what’s happening physiologically in Will Ramos’ larynx while making his vocals click on the highly entertaining, yet informative “OPERATION: ‘Throat Camera’” that was captured by the lovely The Charismatic Voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua8SuWNPrLE
LORNA SHORE will perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago in July. Prior to touring Europe with PARKWAY DRIVE and WHILE THE SUN SLEEPS, they will be playing a handful of European summer festivals, as well as selected shows with AS I LAY DYING and co-headline summer dates with TESSERACT.
