Finnish Hard Rock band LORDI delivered a terrifying video for their latest single, «Hellizabeth». The song is also included in LORDI’s upcoming 19th studio album, «Limited Deadition», set for release on March 21, 2025, via RPM.
The video features a duo of ghost hunters searching for the seemingly invisible main character of the song. The new video takes viewers to an abandoned, remote house, where the two explorers continuously encounter small signs of her haunted majesty. However, they never reach any tangible conclusion to prove her existence—until they are finally caught off guard by «Hellizabeth».
Mr. Lordi speaks about the new single:
«“Hellizabeth” is another typical LORDI song, both lyrically and musically. It is written in the style of a horror movie storyboard, dedicated to a ghostly woman haunting a house. Musically, I believe the biggest surprise is the oddly progressive intro of the song. It comes from childhood memories of trying to learn to play a musical instrument. In reality, it is simply the vocal melody of the verse played in the way a nine-year-old child would, with the whole band playing the same thing simultaneously, with nothing in between. That’s how my musical mind worked as a child, before realizing: “Oh, the vocal melody is different, and the background is supposed to give it harmony and a chorus!”»
Known for their theatrical style and unique blend of ‘80s-inspired Rock and Heavy Metal, LORDI presents a new creation that serves as a nostalgic tribute to ‘80s toys.
«Limited Deadition» was recorded at IluSound Studio and Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, produced by Mr. Lordi, mixed by Ilkka Herkman, and mastered by Pauli Saastamoinen. Mr. Lordi handled the album’s artwork and layout. The thematic core of «Limited Deadition» lies in Mr. Lordi’s lifelong obsession with collecting items, inspired by the action figures and toys of his childhood.
Mr. Lordi explains about the upcoming album «Limited Deadition»:
«The theme of the album with the ‘80s toys is actually a loose concept, but it has followed me since I was a kid. I have always been a collector of various things, and I am somewhat… a hoarder. I can’t even remember what my first toy was, but my obsession started with “The Muppet Show” dolls, followed by “Star Wars” and “E.T.” figures, with the latter being my all-time favorite movie. This album is somewhat of a sibling album to its predecessor. We continue walking the path of AOR music, but this time with a more Metal touch in terms of riffs and rhythm. We have always written what felt right and natural to us, and this album is no exception.»
