INFERNAL STORM come from Kozani-Greece and were founded just in 2021 by the 16-year-old (yes you heard right!) Agis Tzoukopoulos (guitar, bass, drums), who, with the help of the adults Giannis Seviloglou (vocals) and Makis Kavoukas (keyboards) recorded “On Thorns ov Hell “which is their first work. It is released on cassette by Askio Productions and has a duration of approximately 9 minutes.
The band plays a kind of atmospheric Black Metal with many ambient elements. I was always skeptical when I listened to bands with underaged members, especially in the Black Metal scene, because beyond the immaturity of the age and the absence of live performances there was also the issue of lack of technique in playing and lack of experience in orchestration, but above all the absence of a good production. And yet, I forgot all of the above because this release has a good production and technique, having some really good orchestrations. Two of the tracks are instrumental like the intro “Last Moment” which is extremely atmospheric with dark keys and ambient elements, putting you immediately in the mood. The following is the highlight of the cassette, the self-titled song that is flawless atmospheric Black Metal with awesome vocals and melodies that stuck in mind. Finally, the cassette closes with “Threnos” which belongs to the genre of Doom/Death, being instrumental as well
In conclusion, this is a very promising release. However, due to its small duration, I cannot say many things till the band releases a full-length album. I also do not know with which line-up this will be done because know that Agis T. considers INFERNAL STORM as his personal project and not a band.
