An all-star band, formed in 2006 by MUDVAYNE’s Chad Gray and Greg Tribbet on vocals and guitars, Tom Maxwell and Jerry Montano of NOTHINGFACE also on guitars and bass respectively and the recently passed away Vinnie Paul on drums. The striking thing with this band is that despite everyone expected them to be an American phantasmagoric “firework”, they’ve already released six albums till now, with “Welcome Home” being the latest. Unfortunately, part of the flame of this “firework” has extinguished ingloriously with Vinnie Paul’s loss. Fortunately, in this album, we get along with his spirit because he has taken part in the recording process.
However, as one would expect from the names of the rest of the band, their “Pop Corn” Nu Metal music and their new album cannot be supported only from the spirit of the co-founder of the big PANTERA. In addition, the compositions are below average. The only exceptions are two tracks: the “333” launcher and the “Blag Flag Army”. These songs bring out the true “American”, which fits comfortably in Interpid Fox’s Saturday night (p.s. a club in Gazi district of Athens), with beer in your hand while enjoying ethereal female beings doing pole dancing.
However, having only two interesting tracks in a full length album does not save the day. In a very short time, the result will be having “Blag Flag Army” cd being sold on the shelves of unwanted items of “Zacharias” Records (p.s. record store in Athens in Monastiraki square), for a very low price of one-two euros!
