GOTTHARD is a Swiss Hard Rock band founded in Lugano, by Steve Lee and Leo Leoni. It’s last eleven albums have reached number one on the Swiss charts, making it one of the most successful Swiss bands. With sales of two million albums, it managed to make multiple platinum releases in various parts of the world.

With more than 2,000 live appearances around the world, GOTTHARD shows no signs of exhaustion and continues with the release of the successful album “Defrosted 2”. A brand new album that proves that this band still has a lot of Rock n ‘Roll to give. Their thirteenth studio album is simply titled “# 13”, a deliberately simplistic title for an album that doesn’t need a lot of further recommendations.

Inspired by classic bands such as AC / DC, BON JOVI and DEEP PURPLE, the challenge for GOTTHARD is to continue to pave the way for the plethora of newer bands following the same path. There are several moments in their new album that prove why they have become so great. The cover to ABBA’s “SOS” is without doubt the best track of the album, having great vocals and double guitar solos, while “No Time Το Cry” is perhaps another highlight as the album draws to a close. There are several diamonds to discover in between, such as the catchy “Every Time I Die” and “Another Last Time”.

All in all, “# 13” is a powerful release of Rock-n-Roll songs by GOTTHARD. Their cover to ABBA’s track brings the band back to the old habit of including a cover on each of their albums, a habit they had recently abandoned. GOTTHARD shows that it is in very good shape, creating thoughtful, expressive rock music, with beautiful lyrics and pleasant melodies.
