When Vangelis Karzis is involved in something, one thing is certain. That he will hit you on the head like a sledgehammer. Either through his participation in major bands like ROTTING CHRIST and WOLFHEART or through his own band FULL HOUSE BREW CREW, in which apart from the guitars he also does the vocals. Since 2009 they have released 2 full length albums and “Rise Of The Underdogs” is their third album, which will be released on May 10.
We are talking about a powerful release of 9 songs with a completely modern metalcore sound that is gaining popularity in our country. It lasts 37 minutes so it is easy to understand that the songs, with the exception of the the closing “Leaving Home” which lasts 6 minutes, are not consumed in meaningless and unnecessary tricks but unfold shortly and comprehensively. From the hard and demolishing “When The Violence Meets The Art” to the mid-tempo and totally modern “Flawless” (with a short but “terrifying” guitar solo), FULL HOUSE BREW CREW go one step further and become even heavier! The growl vocals in the couplets combined with the clean vocals in the choruses satisfy everyone and are expected to create sing-alongs in the band’s live performances which, by the way, are always flawless, being their strong point. Finally, I have to praise the ferocious drumming of Nikos Friligos.
I can’t wait to hear the album live, preferably in its entirety, because I think it’s going to be even better! Just let FULL HOUSE BREW CREW pick a venue that needs renovating and we’ll take care of the rest!
