SLIPKNOT confirmed the identity of the band’s new drummer. A new post in SLIPKNOT Instagram account includes the tag of Eloy Casagrande, who suddenly left SEPULTURA in early February 2024, just days before the start of their farewell tour.
Interestingly, there are only eight tags in the new Instagram photo that correspond to all but one of the band’s nine members, with the missing member’s account being that of Craig Jones’ as-yet-unknown replacement.
SLIPKNOT made their first festival performance for 2024 on Saturday night, April 27, 2024, as headliners at the Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The concert marked SLIPKNOT’s second performance with Eloy Casagrande. Prior to Sick New World, SLIPKNOT played Thursday night, April 25, 2024 at Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California.
Following their split with Jay Weinberg last November 2023, SLIPKNOT hinted the new drummer to their fans, almost two months ago, by posting a photo of broken drum sticks online with the caption “Rehearsal”.
The band explained, in a statement, that the split with Jay Weinberg was a creative decision. Jay followed up with a statement, saying he was devastated by his firing. Jay Weinberg has since played with SUICIDAL TENDENCIES and INFECTIOUS GROOVES.
SLIPKNOT’s latest album, “The End, So Far”, released in August 2022. It marked the band’s last full-length LP before the departure of keyboardist Craig Jones, who left the group in June 2023, as did Jay Weinberg.
