DREAM THEATER reunite (since 2009) with their original (and legendary) drummer, Mike Portnoy, for the release of their new album “Parasomnia”. With the release of the first 10-minute single, “Night Terror”, the American Prog Metallers kick off the countdown to their 40th anniversary, with a tour across Europe and North America. The European tour begins on October 20, 2024, while DREAM THEATER fans in North America will have the chance to see the band live in February and March 2025.
The Progressive Metal legends reunited with their famous drummer in late October 2023, after a long period during which they released five albums with another top-tier drummer, Mike Mangini.
When the reunion of DREAM THEATER was publicly announced, Portnoy stated:
“I am overwhelmed with joy to return home and reunite with my brothers! There is so much shared history between us… so many memories, so much music… and to think we’re reaching 40 years since this journey began! The idea of creating new music together is so exciting, and I can’t wait to hit the road and play live for a whole new generation of fans who never got to see this lineup… There’s no place like home!!”
Alongside celebrating their 40th anniversary, DREAM THEATER are also looking to the future with this new album, the first with Portnoy since “Black Clouds and Silver Linings”.
“Parasomnia” will be released on February 7, 2025, via InsideOut Music.
