DESTRUCTION are quite often mentioned by many, as one of the great bands of Thrash Metal, with a career that has reached forty years, with several releases under their belt. Especially after their reactivation in 1998, they have been releasing a new album every two or three years. So this year, steady in their schedule, they present us their new release entitled “Diabolical” and also their renewed line-up, as the only original member in the band is Schmier, with the other founding member Mike Sifringer disappearing in 2021, without giving a reason why…

So, what could we expect from a new album of those German Thrashers in 2022? But of course what they have been offering us for years with every new release, an endless mediocrity. For so many years I have been pushing myself by constantly listening to their discography, trying to understand how some people dare to mention DESTRUCTION’s name along with those of SODOM and KREATOR. I don’t deny that in their early years they have released two or three notable albums, but that’s it! What more do they have to show than TANKARD?? “Diabolical” includes twelve new songs while, for those who will buy the album, there is also a cover of GBH’ s “City Baby Attacked By Rats”.

Jokes aside, it’s sad for a band that has a pretty respectable career and a significant fan base, to repeat itself in every release and write mediocre compositions.
