Vocalist Tim Aymar, who is best known for his work with PHARAOH, HELIOS and CONTROL DENIED, has sadly passed away at the age of 59. At this time, the reason for Tim‘s death has not been disclosed. However, merely days before he died, Tim was sharing on his Facebook page that he had a bout of food poisoning.
In a post that said: “It is with unfathomable sorrow that we must confirm the demise of our vocalist, producer, and most importantly, Brother: Tim Aymar,” HELIOS made the death announcement on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
“It is with immeasurable sorrow that we must confirm the passing of our Vocalist, Producer, and most importantly, Brother: Tim Aymar. We reached out to Tim during a rather dark period in our time as a band, and his presence breathed new life into everything we were doing, which culminated in the release of ‘Touch The Sun’.
Tim was tireless in his efforts to bring the best out of HELIOS, both as a vocalist and as a producer, and we were honored to share in those efforts. While we are immensely saddened by his passing and will miss him dearly, we are glad to have stood alongside Tim and to have helped share his immeasurable talent with the world.
We do not have any further details on what happened at this time, and we ask everyone to respect Tim’s privacy and that of his family. As for the future of HELIOS, we have not discussed it at this time. We will update you once we’ve had the heart to discuss it.
Thank you all for your tireless support and your condolences. – Jack, Eric, Jeff, and Jon”.
Tim Aymar‘s career as a vocalist began in 1985 when he joined the music group 313. After that, he went on to be part of TRIPLE-X and recorded an album with them. He is most known for his powerful vocals in Chuck Schuldiner‘s CONTROL DENIED. The band was known for its Progressive and Technical approach to Heavy Metal, with Aymar’s powerful vocals serving as a centerpiece of their sound. CONTROL DENIED released one album, “The Fragile Art of Existence,” in 1999, to critical acclaim.
After CONTROL DENIED disbanded in 2001, Aymar continued to work on various musical projects. He joined the band PHARAOH in 2006, where he remained until 2013. Aymar was also known for his work as a vocal coach, helping other musicians to improve their singing techniques.
Rest In Peace Tim… You will be missed…
