In July 13th, 2024, current IRON MAIDEN’s singer, Bruce Dickinson and former singer Paul Di’Anno, met for the first time ever, after Dickinson’s concert in Zagreb, Croatia, where he was touring to promote his new album “The Mandrake Project”.

As reported by Paul Di’Anno’s manager Stjepan Juras, the former IRON MAIDEN’s singer coincidentally attended an event for his new band project, PAUL DI’ANNO’s WARHORSE, in Zagreb, after Bruce Dickinson’s performance.

Stjepan Juras stated the following with satisfaction in a press release:

“When we thought that nothing could surprise us anymore in the world of Heavy Metal, tonight’s ‘miracle’ in Zagreb proved us all wrong. Paul Di’Anno and Bruce Dickinson met for the first time ever and had a friendly conversation in Zagreb. It was an excellent opportunity for the two Heavy Metal icons and legendary singers of IRON MAIDEN to meet for the first time in nearly half a century. It is a great night for the entire IRON MAIDEN community and Metal fans worldwide because it shows that IRON MAIDEN and everyone who has been part of this band are one big family”

Paul Di’Anno has been facing serious health problems in recent years and almost stopped performing live in 2020. In 2021, he created the project PAUL DI’ANNO’S WARHORSE, where he announced his return to the stage and the tour “The Beast Resurrection Tour” with the aim of “saving his life and getting out of the wheelchair”, as he had stated. In recent years, he has been based in Croatia, where he had the operations and is now recovering on his knees.

Next Sunday, July 21st, 2024, Bruce Dickinson and his personal band will perform live in Athens at the Release Athens Festival, together with JUDAS PRIEST and ACCEPT.

In the video below, Stjepan Juras captured footage of the meeting, which marks the first meeting of the IRON MAIDEN singers in more than four decades since Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di’Anno in 1981.
