“Worms of Consumption”, is the brand new single from Estonian Progressive Death Metal band BEYOND THE STRUCTURE. Lyrically, it speaks of a new consumer society shaped by today’s technological progress, this inevitably leads to irreversible damage to mankind and the planet. Musically, the song combines relentless drumming and frequent blasting with brutal vocals and technical guitar work. The band love pushing the boundaries of extreme metal and frequently use progressive song structures and diminished scales to create their own blend of Progressive Death Metal.
The song comes from their upcoming second full-length album entitled “Scrutiny”, which is expected to be released on April 28th via Vicious Instinct Records.
Thematically, the album addresses the trials and difficulties that humanity faces over the course of evolution. The lyrics are inspired by the works of Jean-Paul Sartre, the Strugatsky brothers and Viktor Pelevin. The band touches upon the crisis of existential existence, mass psychosis, and the inevitable catastrophes caused by the actions of a consumption-based society.
