You are currently viewing The best Extreme Metal albums of the year 2024, as voted at THE GALLERY.GR!

The pinnacle of Extreme Metal music for 2024 has arrived, and the readers of THE GALLERY have selected the best albums of the year that left us behind. The votes from both the readers and the editorial team of THE GALLERY’s online magazine have shaped an exciting twelve-album list that combines the most dynamic and the darkest releases of 2024.

As every year, also this year we hosted our annual competition concerning the best EXTREME METAL albums of 2024 (including Thrash, Death, Black Metal genres and all their subgenres). Based on this, the final twelve albums were selected! Seventy Metalheads participated in this contest, submitting their lists of the 12 top albums of 2024. Once again, a plethora of prizes were offered, with 41 goodies up for grabs, all sponsored by bands, companies, and friends of our page!

Let’s take a first look at the top spots for the past year…

The first place for 2024 was claimed by the Americans BLOOD INCANTATION with the album “Absolute Elsewhere”. This is a Death Metal release with worldwide recognition, breaking free from the confines of the genre, showcasing complexity in both its compositions and influences. A truly unique album, it took the top spot on our page with 444 points! In the second place we find “To Cut The Throat Of God” by New Zealand’s ULCERATE with 221 points. High-quality technical Death Metal, as we’ve come to expect from the New Zealanders in all their releases. In the third place with 206 points, are the Greeks YOTHIRIA, a band led by Jim Mutilator, the founding member of ROTTING CHRIST. The album “Blazing Inferno” was a pleasant surprise for the Black Metal fans, and this is no coincidence. KAWIR and SUICIDAL ANGELS complete the top five spots with equally significant releases! A surprise and a well-deserved recognition for the Greek scene is the presence of SEVEN Greek bands in the final twelve of the best Extreme Metal albums of 2024!
