BENIGHTED are ready to unleash the macabre as they announce their latest new album “Ekbom”. Pulsating with brutality, this new full-length studio album weaves a tale of psychological horror. The album alludes to Delusional Parasitosis, a syndrome in which individuals have a persistent belief of being infested with insects & bugs right under their skin.
“Ekbom” will be released on April 12th via Season Of Mist.
The band states about the new album: “Welcome our new schizophrenic baby ‘Ekbom’ and take a trip into the depths of psychosis with hallucinations of insects and worms… A beautiful story born from the mind of our vocalist Julien inspired by his work as a nurse in psychiatry. Recorded at the famous Kohlekeller Studios in Germany, this album bleeds with darkness and brutality, destroys every limit of what we have done before…”
The album was recorded at the famous Kohlekeller Studio in Germany. Known for recording albums by bands such as POWERWOLF and ABORTED, the studio and its engineer Kristian Kohlmannslehner gives “Ekbom” a perfect sound.
In April, BENIGHTED will embark on the Hellfest Warm-up Tour, delivering their distinctive brand of Brutal Death Metal. The French band will be accompanied by the support of TEN56 throughout the 13 scheduled shows. RISE OF THE NORTH STAR, STINKY and KAMIZOL K will also join them on selected dates.
