UK Metalcore leaders ARCHITECTS, have released their new single “Tear Gas”, taken from the band’s upcoming tenth studio album “The classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit”, which is set for release on October 21st via Epitaph Records.
“The classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit”, will feature layers of electronic and industrial elements, infusing the album with a blast of energy that sets the cinematic moodscape for the 11-track ride.
Drummer/songwriter Dan Searle comments on the album: “This one feels more live, more exciting and more fun – it has that energy…”, with frontman Sam Carter chiming in with “We wanted it to be a lot more industrial and electronic…”
Speaking to NME recently, Carter said: “It’s always important to change and to challenge yourselves as musicians. We’re very proud of the legacy of this band but we don’t want to just look back and think ‘OK that was cool’. We’ve always got to try and reach for bigger, bolder, more excitement. I’m always eyes on the next prize. How can we be better? How can we make the records more exciting? Where should we take the sound of the band? We are always looking for that Eureka moment.We will continue to push ourselves in that way, continue trying to reach new people and show people that we don’t take any of it for granted.”
The album follows up on last year’s chart-topping “For Those That Wish To Exist”. Starting working on the record almost immediately after its predecessor’s release, the album is produced by Dan Searle and Josh Middleton, with additional production from Sam Carter at Deacon’s Middle Farm Studios and their own HQ, Electric Studios in Brighton.
ARCHITECTS will support BIFFY CLYRO on their UK arena tour in November, at the following shows:
