“Beneath The Nightfall”, marks the return of Canadian Metal band AETERNAM and the announcement of their fifth full length record “Heir Of The Rising Sun”, a thematic album based on the history of the Byzantine Empire and the Fall of Constantinople. The album is set to be released on September 2nd, 2022.
Over the course of the nine tracks, the band retraces the foundations of the empire and transcribes a remarkable part of history into music, “from my perspective, it’s a lesser known period in North America”, says Antoine Guertin, the one behind the concept. Recognized and appreciated for their thematic albums, the latest is part of the singular artistic approach of the band, “it is definitely the most audacious, melodic and epic album of Aeternam”, he continues.
Vocalist Achraf Loudiy, expalins: “We like our Death Metal infused with orchestrations. It enhances our sound with a cinematic flavor that allows the listener to experience a temporal journey and above all, live epic moments of great intensity.”
Driven by this desire for authenticity, AETERNAM has once again surrounded itself with renowned professional musicians. The album was mixed by Antoine Guertin and mastered by Quebec producer Christian Donaldson (SHADOW OF INTENT, THE AGONIST). Elaborate lyrics powerfully interpreted by growling vocals, Greek bouzouki, Turkish duduk, all paving the way to majestic choirs and choruses to create a gripping mix that transports the audience to the border between East and West, at the heart of this iconic era.
AETERNAM is a Canadian Metal band from Quebec City. Formed in 2007 and consists of four members: Achraf Loudiy, Antoine Guertin, Mathieu Roy-Lortie, Hubert Gonthier Blouin. The quartet is distinguished by its Middle Eastern melodies combining subtlety, harmony and brutality. Since its formation, AETERNAM has released four albums: “Disciples of the Unseen” (2010), “Moongod” (2012), “Ruins of Empires” (2017) and “Al Qassam” (2020). The critically acclaimed band performed twice on the famous 70 000 Tons of Metal Cruise (2018,2020) and featured on tours in North America with ORPHANED LAND, TYR (2018) and in Europe with SUFFOCATION and VENOM INC (2018).
