In response to THE GALLERY’s relevant post concerning the cancellation of 1914’s tour and following a post in the THE GALLERY’s group yesterday, the band commented in our online magazine, wanting to give another perspective regarding their activities and, at the same time, taking a stand on what is happening in Ukraine and on those who accuse them of touring while their country is at war!

More specifically, 1914 commented:

“We must prepare tons of bureaucratic documents, why in a time of war we will play gigs in EU -and we play it to grab and collect money for our Army and friends in the trenches, to spend our band fee for the drones, armored vehicles, medicine, etc. That’s why we are touring.

We didn’t even think about growing as a band, buying some plastic flamethrower or make some decorations We’re all war volunteers.

And if we, as a band, can bring back home a lot of money, buying a lot of needful equipment, medicine, vehicles and drones – why do not do this before we go to the war? Because we are not fled from our country (as many UA bands do, unfortunately), not living in the EU or USA – we are after every gig or festival went back home with the needful stuff for the front.

Do you know a lot of bands in a situation like this? I know tons of bands from the EU singing about war, but they have zero understanding of what the real war is.

Do you know a lot of death metal bands in a situation like 1914? In time of a biggest war conflict since WW2? With the closed borders. While other European bands can relax, have a beer, and play festivals, we’re faced with daily drone attacks, dead friends, cruise missiles that destroy everything. 5 months ago, in my hometown, they destroyed a school of my daughter and killed her schoolmate, 8-year-old girl, and her whole family.“

As THE GALLERY’s web magazine, we wish for the war to stop immediately and all can continue their lives normally, without suffering and death!
