The guitarist and former STRATOVARIUS leader, Timo Tolkki, has announced via social media that his scheduled tour is either cancelled or postponed due to severe health issues! The musician revealed that he suffers from type 2 diabetes, has mobility problems in his feet, and recently experienced a psychotic episode.
In his statement, Timo Tolkki wrote:
“Last December, I was treated for psychosis and got home for Christmas. I have type 2 diabetes in my feet and can barely walk. Today, I tried to take a flight to Mexico, but I fell on the way to the gate. I am sorry, I am not able to do this tour. All the best, Timo.”
Timo Tolkki remains one of the most influential figures in European power metal, having left an indelible mark on the genre with Stratovarius and his later projects. Tolkki’s health issues have raised concerns among his fans, as his condition appears to be serious.
