On Sunday night (September 22nd, 2024), the legendary Thrash Metal Titans SLAYER have given their first concert in five years as Riot Fest. The festival took place at Douglass Park in Chicago, Illinois.
The band came on stage just after 8.30 p.m. (local time) and ran through a 20-song set, that included the opener “South Of Heaven” as also “Seasons In The Abyss”, “Angel Of Death”, “Hell Awaits”, “Raining Blood” and the title track of SLAYER’s last album, “Repentless”.

SLAYER will next perform at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 27th , followed by an appearance at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California on October 10.
Five years after SLAYER played the last concert of what was being billed as the band’s farewell tour and just weeks after SLAYER’s guitarist Kerry King unveiled the details of his solo project, Kerry and his longtime band mates announced that they would play at “Aftershock”, “Riot Fest” and “Louder Than Life”.
