Simone Simons and Arjen Lucassen comment on the new single “Aeterna”:
“Aeterna is the epic first track of the album and is accompanied by an amazing video, directed by Patric Ullaeus. He combines powerful Latin lyrics with an oriental influence, creating a balance between bombastic sounds and atmospheric elements. It’s the first track released from the album, it means a lot to us and we’re excited for people to hear it!”
The song explores the interconnectedness of the universe, from the perspective of a star about to go supernova. It delves into the deep emotions, consciousness and mysteries of life that science has yet to fully explain. Ultimately, it exchanged our place in the vast universe and the connections that unite us, as we are all, in the words of Carl Sagan, “made of stars.”
