A new album for KK’S PRIEST and it’s common sense that it’s going to have many discussions about it. As we said, it is common sense to have a big conversation but not to turn into gossip. I had this discussion with some friends, as I also read a lot (unfortunately for me) about the second album of the former guitarist of JUDAS PRIEST.
I came to the conclusion that “dude, close your ears and clear your mind of all the nonsense you’ve heard so far, just put the record on the turntable to spin”. And that’s what I did! I went and bought the vinyl and put it on without having any preconceived notion of what I was going to listen to. We are talking about an album that could easily be compared to some PRIEST albums. I cannot put it on the same scale as the diamonds that PRIEST released in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. It would be unfair!
Of course, a comparison can be made with some of the moderate releases of KK Downing’s former band. So this album is so much worse than “Redeemer Of Souls”?? Which album is closer to JUDAS PRIEST’s music that we loved, “Redeemer” or “The Sinner Rides Again”?? It’s sure that this album will convince you from the first songs. Is that Ripper’s voice? Are the compositions of songs? I guess the mixture of the two is something explosive.
KK was born to play pure Heavy Metal and that’s what he will do until he gets bored and quits. He’s one of the people who made that music genre. The album is easy to listen from the beginning to the end with the vocals of Tim Ripper Owens, making you understand why PRIEST had chosen him to replace the Metal God. Anyone who likes pure, authentic and genuine Heavy Metal will like this album. All the rest just try something else!
