Spanish Black Metal scene is making its presence in 2020 with AVERSIO HUMANITATIS and their new album “Behold the Silent Dwellers”. Now that Debemur Morti Productions has discovered this trio their name will probably spread further in the world. The band was created in Madrid, Spain in 2010 and, after a full length, two splits and the amazing EP “Longing For The Untold” of 2017, it returns to haunt our soul with this “sick” Black Metal creation.
The first noticeable characteristic is that the six songs of the album, have a different structure, as if they were in their own dark world. Something that adds a lot of value to the artistic creation and preserves the interest with its rhythm changes. But these changes do not seem to be simple deviations, as they drag us to their zenith. From the first song you realize that you’re on a musical journey from a new band that’s plunged into the brush of the misanthropic and psychedelic melodies influenced by KRIEGSMASCHINE and DEATHSPELL OMEGA. The guitar melodies accompanied by the impressive desperate A.M. vocals, combined with a theatrical spirit will dominate you by its great and emotional force.
Black Metal is the main ingredient for the rest of the album, death, nihilism and human misery sonorized by relentless and haunting Black Metal. But the band is not afraid sometimes to come out of this pattern by reducing atmosphere for tension’s favor, while it manages to preserve genre’s identity parallel. At the same time AVERSIO HUMANITATIS never sacrifice their structural or melodic ideas, fact that comforts in a common disagreement of Post-Metal, as they create an environment related to the desert landscape described in the lyrics and in the cover.
“Behold The Silent Dwellers” is a fascinating epic journey into the abyss, seeking the inner world and avert humanity. An album that looks straight to the future and offers new paths for approaching Black Metal sound. A band that attuned to MGLA’s musical vision, adds the dark psychedelic and relentless brutality of its personal perception and offers us an independent and autonomous melodic Black Metal sound!
