Till Lindemann (RAMMSTEIN) and Peter Tägtgren (HYPOCRISY) are releasing their second album “F&M”, after their first one named “Skills In Pills” in 2015. The album is relatively more “theatrical” than its predecessor, but, as expected, we are still walking into some serious synth/industrial territories.
Always within the range of the Rock sound, the album contains fifteen tracks. The production (since the producer is Peter himself) is flawless. The melodies are catchy, the lyrics this time are entirely in German, and the album balances out between the Industrial Rock genres, though with many theatrical passages. Even piano-oriented points and the necessary touch of madness and psychedelic vibes can be found in here! Since we mentioned those two words, a special reference should be made to the great/crazy video clips created for that album, courtesy of actor Peter Stormare (“Tomorrow we come back and cut off your chonson”).
Many songs could be singles, as they are so beautiful, as melodies usually stick in your mind. During “F&M” we hear folk, melodic ballads (“Knebel”), more synth/industrial songs (“Platz eins”, “Ich weib es nicht”), more theatrical songs (“Wer weiß das schon”, “Schlaf ein”, “Ach so gern”, the latter could be a piece of a theatrical musical), some pure Rock pieces (“Frau & Man”) and of course pieces that are combinations of all of the above.
Overall, “F&M” is a varied, quality album that balances between the spectrums of Rock and Synth with many theatrical elements. What’s the difference with PAIN, Peter’s solo project? Peter gives Till the freedom he wants to rock more and vary his sound outside of the Industrial spectrum. This collaboration couldn’t do anything less than an album with great quality songs, diverse backgrounds, flawless production. Thus the final result is great and should not be missed!
